Dr. Stef Stienstra is a strategic and creative development manager in biomedical science, with a parallel career as a reserve commander of the Royal Dutch Navy. For the Dutch Armed Forces he has a responsibility in the counter measures in CBNRE treats and consequence management both in a military and in a civilian (terrorism) context. In his civil career, he has been working internationally for several medical and biotech companies. At this moment, Stef Stienstra is working for MT-Derm in Berlin (D) developing a novel interdermal vaccination technology, IQ Therapeutics in Groningen (NL) developing therapeutic antibodies against anthrax and orthopox viruses, Heim Medizintechnik in Gladbeck (D) developing a field blood separation unit, Infection Control in Eemnes (NL) developing a bio-disinfection system for bioterrorism consequence management and IB Consultancy in The Hague (NL). He has finished his studies Medicine and Biochemistry in The Netherlands and has extensive practical experience in cell biology, immuno-haematology, biodefence and transfusion medicine. His natural business acumen and negotiation competence help him initiate new successful businesses, often created out of unexpected combinations of technologies. He is a top level management consultant, due to good understanding of abstract science combined with excellent skills in communication of scientific matters to non-specialists.
