The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the City of The Hague have awarded the CATCH project to a consortium led by IB Consultancy. CATCH, which forms part of the Pieken in de Delta Programme, is short for CBRNe Advanced Training Curriculum The Hague. It aims to meet the demand for a European standard for the education and training of first responders to CBRNe incidents.
The project intends to develop a certified training trajectory for the European market that will address all requirements. To achieve this, the CATCH consortium will collaborate with European Commission FP7- awarded projects and the European Committee for Standardisation CEN. The consortium consists of a mixture of SMEs, large industrial enterprises, international and national organisations and research and education institutes. The project partners are Hot Zone Solutions Benelux BV, Prometech BV, the Dutch Institute for Normalisation NEN, and the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael.
The project will commence on November 1st 2010, and will run for 24 months. The budget for the project is 2.3 million euro. The curriculum that will be developed in CATCH consists of multiple components. IB Consultancy will act in the CATCH project as coordinator and product developer.
